EN: Worldwide-known LAPP Cup tournament continues in its seventh part. Takes place in Zlin from Sept 7 to Sept 9

Yes, LAPP Cup 2017, the European supposedly highest-class sledge hockey club tournament, is going to happen! The worldwide-known sledge hockey tournament will take place in Zlin for the seventh time in its history. It will take place in its usual three-day period from Thursday to Saturday, dated Sept 7 to Sept 9.

"Our sponsors are with us positively again, we thank them very much. Thanks to them, thanks to many people from the organizing comittee and thanks to the teams enormously interested in, LAPP Cup can happen again," tournament's CEO Petr Julina introduced.

LAPP Cup tournament dates unusually no earlier than in the second week in September. "We had to consider a difficult decision. The usual dates from August 31 to September 2 would be all right. However, a more lucrative second week in September, as for fans events, came into question. Certain issues occurred, though. Eventually, we run a risk that paid well after having it consulted with the organizing comittee," Julina added with relief.

Tournament organizers reserved the right not to publish the results of their negotiations with possible tournament participants so far. However, it is certain now that minor or major problems may occur, concerning the participation of Russian teams who - except the first year - have always been to the LAPP Cup. Sergei Samoylov, team Russia head coach has passed away recently (more about his bereavement HERE). "We are very sorry about it, but it is a great hassle at the same time. Their (Russian) tournament participation has always been negotiated about with Sergei, hard to say for how long Russian sledge hockey would be possibly paralyzed by Sergei's passing away," Julina hesitated to guess.
